We launched our new year’s climate resolutions campaign at the COP28 Global Day of Action on 9th December in Edinburgh, and have gathered hundreds of suggestions from people across Scotland for new year’s climate resolutions for party leaders to commit to.

I've been working on renewable energy since before the first Energy for Rural and Island Communities Conference at the newly opened Eden Court Theatre, Inverness. This is a good foundation for dealing with global warming problems.

I have a 3 year old, and an 8 month old. They (and by extension, all children) are my reason for caring about climate change. They don't deserve to inherit a broken, unhealthy, dying planet. They deserve to inherit a flourishing world where they can thrive. Now is the time for stepping up and finally being serious about radical, ambitious policies that lead the world in climate policy. Will you be those leaders?

I live in Argyll and have a large garden which is very productive. However, there is never a limit to how sustainably we can live. Many of my friends in England continue to take long haul flights for no good reasons. They need an example to follow from our leaders but all they see is more private jets. This is urgent, act now to reduce the amount of damage that your inaction has already caused. There is only one planet!

This is an emergency. This needs to be prioritised now. Scotland could be leading the way to climate justice. Please act now for all our children's sake. It is this generation that has the responsibility to act for all future generations.

I don’t think you are taking the situation seriously enough If you really believed what scientists are telling us you would surely be sending out messages telling the action you are taking and what you need the public to do.
