Stop Climate Chaos Scotland (SCCS) is delighted to be partnering with the Scottish Communities Climate Action Network (SCCAN) to host a series of three online lunchtime workshops to explore what’s happening with climate action in Scotland and how we can work together for climate justice.

There will be inspiring speakers, the chance to hear about exciting actions you can take to make a difference, and the opportunity to try out different tools to help you nurture effective relationships with your local representatives and speak impactfully about climate change and climate action.

What’s Next for Climate Action in Scotland – Tuesday 5th November 12 – 1 pm
Join us for this session focused on the action needed to reduce emissions across key sectors and upcoming campaigns you can get involved with.
- Current context: gain insights into the latest climate bills and policies impacting Scotland’s climate action.
- Sector focus: learn about the essential actions needed across key sectors, with speakers from WWF, Community Transport Association, Christian Aid, RSPB and more.
- Collaborative discussion: participate in a conversation with climate advocates and organisations working together to drive meaningful change.
Event 2
Climate Action in Scotland: What you can do – Wednesday 20th November 12 – 1 pm
Hear from inspirational and motivational speakers and campaigners working for strong climate action in Scotland and internationally – find ways to get involved and take local and national actions for climate justice.
- Laura Young (Less Waste Laura): Award-winning climate activist, environmental scientist and ethical influencer, Laura has made a big contribution to environmental education and campaigning efforts through the medium of social media. Hear the stories behind some of her successful campaigns.
- Global Justice Now: Liz Murray, head of Scottish campaigns at Global Justice Now, will talk about the growing campaign for a Fossil Fuel Non-Proliferation Treaty – a global exit plan from coal, oil and gas – to address the root cause of the climate emergency in a fast, fair and financed way. Hear what role Scotland can play in this, and what you can do locally.
